A beautiful request

A few days ago, a wonderful young man by the name of Octavius Lanier reached out to me. He told me he is a nominee for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), and would like to use a monologue from my book "Black Eyed: Plays and Monologues" for his audition to the competition.

The piece he asked to use is "When A Man Loves," one that speaks to the unabolished truth of love, how it cannot be caught in verse or how it does not prepare you for life after it is gone. I would like to thank Octavius for his request, and have given him my permission to use this piece at the festival.

If you would like to read more of my pieces from "Blackeyed," check out my Books page for information. For anyone further interested in sharing my pieces, please let me know as I enjoy hearing from you as well. Thank you.
