INTERVALS: AN EVENING OF
SHORT PIECES FROM THE
PLAYWRIGHTS' GYM
Dobama Theatre proudly presents this event free of charge.
The evening will include readings of short monologues and two-person scenes from GYM members, and the readings will be performed by Cleveland professional actors like Dorothy Silver, Ananias J. Dixon, Nina Domingue, Lara Mielcarek, and many more.
The GYM is Dobama's professional playwriting unit, comprised of local writers. Pieces are developed and workshopped in monthly GYM meetings, and several pieces have received world premieres at Dobama and elsewhere in the country. Recent examples include How to Be A Respectable Junkie, premiered at Dobama in 2017, and Rastus and Hattie, which had its world premiere at Cleveland Public Theater in 2019.
